Archie Rose Distilling Co. was founded in Rosebery, Sydney in 2014 to re-ignite and lead Australia's rich history in distilling, driven by four values including innovation, quality, authenticity and education. Now, proudly Australia's most highly awarded distillery, we produce a diverse range of whiskies, gins, vodkas and rums, as well as one-off collaborations, venues and spirits experiences.
Our rapidly growing business is looking for a committed and experienced Account Manager to manage key customers across Sydney's highly influential top-end on-premise, with the clear objective of optimizing the ranging of Archie Rose products. To be successful in this role, the applicant will be self-motivated with a proven track record in field sales and the ability to drive the distribution and deliver sales growth within the on-premise and defined territory.
The role plays a crucial role in increasing the distribution and rate of sale of our brands in the influential heartland of premium spirits. Responsible for managing & the delivery customer performance across the defined key customer base, the role is accountable for driving the sales volume, visibility, profitability, and overall performance within a defined customer set.
Reporting Relationships- Based in Sydney, the role sits within the Commercial team, reporting directly to the Field Sales Manager.
- The role will complement the existing Account Manager team based in:
- Melbourne - VIC
- Perth - WA/SA
- Brisbane - QLD/NT
- Establishing close cross-functional relationships with the trade marketing, global Brand Ambassador and the broader commercial team.
Principle Accountabilities
Connected business partner to key independent on-premise in a specified region in Sydney metro and inner suburbs, cultivating relationships with key trade partners, with a clear objective of maximising the effectiveness of the specific customer base
Tasked to drive the key distribution and sales growth by developing, managing and executing the annual commercial strategy for the respective channels.
- Deep understanding of what is important to the most influential customers and use these insights to drive the creation and execution of a clear and powerful commercial plan
- Develop, manage and execute the annual promotional plan for the respective channels.
- Management of customer allowances and investment to optimise the value of the Archie Rose portfolio at customer level.
- Working closely with the national Brand Ambassador, establish a solid customer pipeline to drive ranging, brand/ product awareness, education and ultimately sell through of the range of products
- Develop and maintain effective internal cross-functional relationships to drive a collaborative approach and be a valuable contributor to the broader sales function.
- Have your finger on the pulse of what is happening on the ground and have brilliant relationships with key influencers in the industry
- Category Knowledge across spirits; passion for brands, customers and their consumers
- Skilled in developing customer and stakeholder commitment, negotiating for win-win outcomes.
Job Details
- Deliver compelling customer plans to maximise sustainable profit delivery and market share growth
- Identify which of your key customers / outlets have the best opportunity for improvement and achieve key deliverables.
- Lead the management and negotiation of pouring, pricing, product launches, activity planning across key independent customers.
- Increase the knowledge and education of Archie Rose products in the on-premise and defined customer audience..
- Monitoring the activity compliance during agreed sales activities, embed an effective measure and evaluate protocol to evaluate all promotional activity and investment.
- An in-depth understanding of the total market and relevant channels.
- Identify and develop opportunities to increase the awareness of the Archie Rose Distilling Co. portfolio, with the intention of increasing sales and distribution.
Recruitment Criteria
- Industry leading knowledge and experience in premium brands within the liquor space - minimum 3 years experience in a sales capacity.
- Savvy financial acumen skills with a sound ability to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance
- Proven track record generating value at account level, delivering target and a passion for exceeding customer expectations.
- An interest in truly contributing to the growth of an Australian business and wanting to play a role in defining the next phase of how and what Australians drink. Backed by a desire and ability to thrive in a fast paced, diverse environment
- Highly skilled in fostering commitment through negotiation skills, resolving conflict and creating collaborative relationships
- Good understanding of distributors, key customers and competitors: their businesses and their shoppers / drinkers
- Ability to work independently, strong communication skills and work outside of normal business hours and on weekends, as required by the role.
