Melbourne CBD | Permanent Role from September 2025 | Full-Time
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions, while partnering with leadership to inform decision-making across the organisation. The Finance Analyst will collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate financial insights, maintain and enhance financial models, and support strategic initiatives. While the role is primarily analytical, it also involves building effective working relationships across teams to ensure financial information is well understood and used to guide operational and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain reforecast models and budget templates to support strategic financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to gather financial inputs, validate assumptions, and deliver actionable insights that support operational and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and act as a trusted business partner to gather financial inputs, validate key assumptions, and deliver actionable insights.
- Utilize advanced Excel techniques to maintain, enhance, and automate financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
- Support business-as-usual (BAU) finance operations, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Conduct variance analysis and generate financial reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing clear insights to business leaders.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by liaising with internal teams and maintaining robust reporting standards.
- Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests, contributing to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Design and maintain grant management dashboards and reports, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and providing visibility into grant performance and utilization.
About You:
You hold qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CPA/CA status preferred. You bring proven experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting, along with strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365. You have a solid understanding of accounting principles and reporting, and you're confident working independently across competing priorities. Your ability to build effective business partnerships and communicate financial insights clearly enables you to influence outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
What We Offer:
- A supportive and values-driven team environment.
- Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working.
- Opportunities to contribute to meaningful work in the education sector.
