Commercial Finance Analyst – Melbourne

I'm working with a leading Australian retail & consumer goods business that is continuing to expand and invest in its finance team. They are seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to support decision making and partner across retail, wholesale, and operations on a permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for a CA/CPA qualified or nearly qualified candidate who wants exposure to a true business partnering role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The Role

  • Provide commercial insights and analysis to drive performance.
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams across sales, margin, and trading.
  • Deliver reporting packs with meaningful commentary for senior leadership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Contribute to financial modelling for projects and investment decisions.
  • Improve reporting tools, dashboards, and processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Accounting/Finance.
  • CA/CPA qualified or close to completion.
  • 2–5 years' experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or analysis (retail or consumer exposure highly regarded).
  • Strong Excel/financial modelling skills, with BI tool experience a bonus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
