The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join the Investments team at La Trobe Financial awaits you. As a Reporting Analyst at La Trobe Financial, you will be responsible for the performance of regular and ad hoc reporting and analytic functions in relation to the La Trobe Australian and La Trobe Global Asset Management products within the Asset Management team. Beyond ensuring reporting is prepared with high degrees of accuracy, a large part of this role is supporting the business with ad hoc insight generation, utilising your strong analytic reasoning and business acumen to translate numbers into actionable insights for our key stakeholders.

As part of this team, you will be encouraged to challenge and reimagine the way we work, striving to increase the control environment, and reduce time to insight generation. As we grow and diversity as an Asset Manager, you will be on the forefront of exciting new products, providing ample opportunity to problem solve and create impact.

The responsibilities of the Reporting Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring regular reporting obligations are delivered on time and to high standards;
  • Ad hoc requests for data & insight generation;
  • Process mapping and documentation;
  • Continuous improvement in reporting process and content;
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships; and
  • Assisting the Head of Product, Analytics & Reporting with implementation of modelling and BI systems on a project basis.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or other numeric and analytically related disciplines with strong financial acumen;
  • 3-5 years' experience within relevant Financial Services, Asset Management, or analytic/reporting roles;
  • Strong analytic and reasoning skills, being able to translate various raw data streams into meaningful insights on the portfolio and broader business;
  • Proven ability to identify & resolve issues, including verifying and reconciling datasets;
  • Track record or aptitude for data transformation and BI tools highly regarded;
  • Passionate about continued improvements, efficiency, and streamlined automations;
  • Business acumen and ability to understand and critically analyse information in the broader context of the business;
  • Strong project management skills and ability to juggle competing priorities;
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach in dynamic environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Key stakeholder management;
