Join our Government Architect Western Australia (GAWA) as an Executive Officer

The Executive Officer delivers a high standard of executive and business support to the Government Architect, providing confidential and proactive administrative, secretarial, office management and research functions. The role collaborates with staff across the Department to ensure the Government Architect can fulfill their responsibilities efficiently and effectively.

The Executive Officer also provides leadership and direction to employees within the Office of the Government Architect, ensuring consistency in administrative processes while driving continuous improvement and innovation in all business administration processes for the team.

This is a full-time permanent position. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

Our Perth office is located in the Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:

  1. Demonstrated experience in a high-level executive support role.
  2. Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to use discretion and initiative to deal with complex and sensitive issues whilst maintaining confidentiality.
  4. Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise, negotiate and build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated experience in coordinating administrative systems and processes with the ability to lead and mentor others in driving process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context as outlined below.

Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership. The Personal Leadership context is about the work of individuals not yet in traditional leadership positions who make a direct and immediate difference to the agency.
