Our client is a state peak sporting body representing the interests of over 2,500 members. It has a long and successful history which includes creating pathways for Olympians. The organisation manages a range of high-performance programs and competitions across the state, as well as advocating for the sport both locally and nationally. The CEO also manages a significant sporting facility.
Reporting to an experienced and supportive Board, the CEO will be responsible for managing the organisation's strategic goals with a focus on the growth and sustainability of the sport in WA. Key accountabilities will include:
- Leadership of a small, close-knit team.
- Stakeholder engagement with organisation and individual members, all levels of government, the media, commercial partners and the public.
- The growth and development of existing and new funding sources.
- Lead a significant capital works and change program.
- Operational and strategic leadership.
- Membership management and growth.
- Oversee and develop the events portfolio – with efficient and timely delivery.
To be successful in this position, the incoming CEO will need:
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead an organisation and work with a Board.
- A leadership style that is inclusive, aspirational and outcomes focused.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and business development skills.
- Ability to manage a range of differing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- To be uncompromising when it comes to integrity, honesty and ethical decision making.
