JMB Environmental Consulting is a growing environmental consultancy with offices across Australia. We are seeking a meticulous and tech savvy Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer to join our Alexandria office.

This role involves keeping our accounts up to date and accurate on a daily basis, working closely with our admin and leadership teams to ensure clean records for our external accounting team. You will be hands on, organised, and comfortable managing day to day financial activities in a busy, professional environment.

Key responsibilities


• Reconciliation of accounts in Xero and Hubdoc

• Management of accounts receivable, including debtor follow up and maintenance of aging reports

• Coding and processing of supplier invoices and bills

• Ensuring transactions are correctly coded for GST and internal reporting

• Maintaining clean ledgers to support timely IAS, BAS, and tax reporting by our external accounting team

• Liaising with clients and suppliers regarding payments and account queries

• Supporting the admin team with finance related tasks and system improvements

About you


• Experienced with Xero and Hubdoc (essential)

• Strong understanding of GST, reconciliation, and general bookkeeping principles

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent phone manner and confidence when following up accounts

• Organised, consistent, and able to work both independently and collaboratively

• Comfortable using modern software and cloud-based systems
