About our Business

We are an established Property Developer/ Owner, who manages their own diverse portfolio of properties – incorporating Residential, Commercial & Retail as well as other investments not related to properties.

Our Alexandria-based Family Office is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Property & Investment Accounts Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations for rental and investment income across multiple entities. The role is hands-on, including some data entry and reconciliations when necessary, but is regularly supported by a junior accounts clerk who handles routine transactional input and basic reconciliations.

We value maturity and property or investment accounting experience—formal degrees are not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting for rental roll income, property-related revenue, and investment transactions
  • Prepare monthly accounts, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations for all entities; conduct or oversee data entry and reconciliation where/when necessary
  • Review and approve entries from the junior accounts clerk, while actively performing more complex or sensitive data work as needed
  • Maintain accurate records for all rental and investment receipts; manage group cash flow and perform bank reconciliations
  • Undertake in-house compliance (prepare/lodge BAS, FBT, payroll tax) and assist with income tax as required
  • Process and reconcile credit card/online transactions along with expense coding where/ when necessary
  • Ensure all finance records (digital and paper) are kept up-to-date and confidential
  • Provide ad hoc property, admin and office support as required
  • Report to a qualified Financial Controller and contribute to team mentorship

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated experience in property, rental, or investment accounting/bookkeeping (including hands-on data entry)
  • Comfortable supervising and mentoring junior accounts staff
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly advanced Excel skills for financial reporting and analysis)
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills
  • Effective communicator, able to work independently and within a small, supportive team

Formal degree not necessary – mature, hands-on applicants strongly encouraged.

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to $120,000 package, commensurate with experience
  • Immediate start, office in Alexandria (with public transport/parking options)
  • Day-to-day support from a junior accounts clerk and mentorship by the Financial Controller
