About The Project:The JV partnership between John Holland and design partner KBR delivers innovative and high-quality assets and upgrades with Melbourne Water to ensure communities across Melbourne continue to enjoy high-quality water supply and treatment, effective flood mitigation and seamless sewage removal and treatment.
The JH-KBR Joint Venture has successfully delivered a wide range of critical infrastructure projects for the region, including water and sewer pipeline renewals, treatment plant upgrades, flood mitigation initiatives, and reservoir improvements.
We are now looking for an experienced Senior Community & Stakeholder Advisor to join our Melbourne Water Framework. The project has an expected duration of two years and is based in Melbourne's bayside area.
Your Role:As a Senior Community and Stakeholder Advisor for the Melbourne Water Framework project, your role is to create and deliver a stakeholder and community relations program that supports the Project's outcomes and protect and promotes Melbourne Water's reputation. You will handle stakeholder and community issues and provide advice to the project team on communications and engagement strategies to ensure the project's success and community centric team culture.
Core Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate construction impacts and to effectively respond to feedback and concerns.
- Identify and manage issues and risks pertaining to the project and escalate issues and risks to the Project Manager and JV's Community and Stakeholder Manager.
- Ensure Melbourne Water's expectations are fully understood and develop trusted and 'no surprises' working relationship with Melbourne Water project team.
- Assist to develop and implement the Project's Communications Action Plan for the project ensuring it is tailored to the project and community needs and updated as required.
- Develop trusted and collaborative relationships with the project team to ensure the project has a community-centric culture which supports activities undertaken strategically, minimising impact and disruption to stakeholders and the community.
- Provide advice and assistance to the construction teams on community and stakeholder activities so communication and notification requirements are understood in accordance with the Stakeholder Relations and Communications Management Plan.
- Write a range of high-quality communication materials, including notifications, presentations, social media posts, website updates and formal correspondence as well as co-ordinate residential door-knocks and information sessions as appropriate.
- Manage responses to all project related communications matters including via phone, email, website and social media in line with agreed client framework
- Assist in the identification, development and management of promotional and legacy opportunities for the project and its construction (i.e. media, presentations, milestones etc) which create valuable experiences for the community.
- Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (Disciplines relevant to function area, e.g. public relations, journalism, communications, stakeholder management)
- 3-5 years' experience providing strategic communications advice and services.
- Multi-discipline experience, e.g. corporate communications, stakeholder relations, community engagement, marketing communications.
- Experience in leading project or specialist function activities within a construction environment is highly regarded
- IAP2 certificate.
