About The Role
As Manager Financial Accounting you will be part of the Finance Branch and responsible for the Financial Accounting Section. Your main focus will be on ensuring compliance with accounting standards, budget development in a timely and accurate manner, and invoices paid on time.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and coordinate the budget development process
  • Oversee the preparation of council's financial statements, the external audit process and accounts payable function
  • Provide expert advice on financial accounting matters to the organisation
  • Lead the team to achieve operational objectives, whilst enhancing the team's employee experience
  • Drive continuous improvement in the team

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in commerce, business or similar
  • A membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants, or Certified Practising Accountants
  • High-level negotiation, consultation, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
