About the role
The Academic Manager is a leadership position for the Curriculum and Academic Management (CAM) teamwithin Education Futures, based in Armidale and reporting to the Senior Manager, CAM. The role leads a small team to deliver high¿quality academic program management, curriculum administration, and quality assurance across the University¿s curriculum profile. Working closely with Associate Deans (Teaching & Learning) and key stakeholders, the Academic Manager implements academic policies and procedures, coordinates course and unit planning cycles, and ensures accurate, timely governance processes and records. Accountable for service excellence and continuous improvement, the Academic Manager drives process efficiency, data accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and university standards. The role provides expert operational and strategic advice, fosters effective stakeholder relationships, and builds a high performance culture through staff development and performance management. A strong focus on systems stewardship, evidencebased decision¿making, and digital enablement (including responsible use of AI) underpins the roles contribution to student success and institutional quality.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven people leadership: build highperformance teams, coach staff, and manage workload, quality and timelines.
- Experience in academic/curriculum management, translating policy into effective practice across curriculum profile.
- Expertise in governance workflows: plan and coordinate activities with accurate records and timely approvals.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence: collaborate with academic and professional portfolios to deliver solutions.
- Advanced communication: produce clear reports, guidelines and recommendations by synthesising complex information.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving capability with a focus on data accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement.
