Norwest New South Wales, Australia Edgewater Connections Full time $100,000 - $150,000 per year
Client-Side Project Manager – Telecommunications Infrastructure

About Us

Edgewater Connections is a leading provider of electrical and telecommunications infrastructure solutions, specialising in Level 3 ASP, Level 1 ASP, and Telco projects. Based in Norwest, NSW, we deliver high-quality, cost-effective outcomes across utilities, telecommunications, and land development sectors.

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Client-Side Project Manager (Telecommunications) to lead and manage the delivery of key infrastructure, asset relocation, and new fibre connection projects. This role involves close coordination with major Telecommunication Carriers (such as NBN, Telstra, and others), Utility Authorities (including Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Essential Energy), developers, and government agencies.

The Role

Reporting to the Delivery Manager – Projects, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of telecommunications infrastructure, asset relocation, and new fibre installation projects — from concept and design through to construction, commissioning, and closeout.

This position includes both office-based project management and site-based coordination, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with technical, regulatory, and client requirements.

You'll represent the client's interests, maintaining control over scope, budget, quality, and time, while fostering strong relationships across the telecommunications and utilities industries.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of telecommunications infrastructure and asset relocation projects.
  • Oversee the installation of new fibre connections and associated infrastructure within new developments.
  • Coordinate the identification, protection, adjustment, and relocation of existing telecommunications assets impacted by civil or utility works.
  • Develop project strategies, delivery programs, budgets, and performance reports to meet client objectives.
  • Liaise with Telecommunication Carriers (NBN, Telstra, Optus, Vocus, Opticomm, etc.), councils, developers, and authorities to secure approvals and compliance.
  • Track progress, manage risks and variations, and ensure adherence to WHS and environmental standards.
  • Facilitate design reviews, progress meetings, and contractor coordination.

Office-Based Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, budgets, and delivery programs.
  • Develop tender documentation and assist in evaluating and awarding contracts.
  • Review design documentation, specifications, and technical submissions.
  • Support procurement, contractor management, and financial reporting.
  • Contribute to feasibility assessments and early-stage development planning.
  • Maintain accurate and organised project documentation and reporting.

Site-Based Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance.
  • Oversee on-site works including pit and pipe construction, fibre installation, and asset relocation activities.
  • Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and carriers to resolve site issues efficiently.
  • Ensure all works meet safety, environmental, and design requirements.
  • Verify as-built documentation, testing results, and commissioning reports.
  • Provide on-site leadership to ensure successful project outcomes.

Stakeholder & Team Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, carriers, and service authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior project staff.
  • Represent Edgewater professionally in all client, authority, and industry interactions.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Project Management, Telecommunications, or related field (preferred but not essential).
  • White Card (NSW WorkCover Site Induction).
  • Class C NSW Driver's Licence.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in telecommunications or utilities project management (client-side, consultancy, or service authority experience highly regarded).
  • Proven experience managing telecommunication asset relocations and new fibre installations within new developments.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications network design, carrier approval, and construction processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with NBN, Telstra, or other major carriers.
  • Optional but highly regarded: experience in Telco Pit and Pipe design, and Pathway Design for carrier networks using AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with local council and authority processes and technical standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management systems.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial, contractual, and organisational acumen.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
  • Collaborative, professional, and outcome-driven approach.

Why Join Us?
  • Join a respected and growing company with a strong reputation in the utilities and telecommunications sectors.
  • Work on diverse and technically engaging projects — from asset relocations to new fibre rollouts across NSW.
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture with clear career development opportunities.
  • Competitive salary package and long-term role stability.
  • Work from Norwest's vibrant commercial hub with flexibility and autonomy.
