Role Summary:

NES Fircroft are seeking a Senior Project Engineer (SMP) to oversee the successful planning and safe delivery of projects within approved Capital Budget, working client side for our Tier 1 mining client in NSW. This role focuses on Ore Processing, CE Mining and Infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) engineering efforts from project initiation to close-out.
  • Ensure projects meet stakeholder requirements and adhere to scope, quality, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with Project Supervision and Engineering teams to manage contractor compliance with safety and engineering standards.
  • Conduct Project Assurance reviews including Design Reviews, Risk Assessments and integrate Safety in Design principles.
  • Implement Value Engineering to provide cost-effective, safe solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership and ensure effective Critical Controls Management for High-Risk Tasks.
  • Track and report project performance, manage Construction Verification, and handle change management processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, or related field).
  • Over 10 years of senior project engineering experience in Resources or Heavy Industries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project controls software (e.g., SAP, MS Project, Primavera).
