About the role

Opportunity for a skilled administrative professional to provide support to the Administrative Services Coordinators, Associate Director and provide effective and efficient administrative support to the IMHA team with a focus on working well with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will provide a wide range of administrative support services to IMHA and consumer advisory groups including but not limited to phone-based services, interview coordination, training and orientation of new staff, coordinating service events, minute taking, and data entry.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads, meet timelines and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide client focused services in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the capacity to communicate with clients who are socially and economically disadvantaged, people with a disability or mental illness, children, the elderly and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient word processing skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

About IMHA

IMHA is the primary non legal advocacy provider in Victoria and responsible for the opt out registry. We provide non legal advocacy services to people subject to Compulsory Treatment and at risk. We do this by attending Mental Health services, both hospitals and clinics, to provide services to consumers. We also provide rights groups to consumers, information sessions to consumers and services and supported decision making training to the mental health workforce.

We are part of VLA. With over 1400 staff employed in 16 offices across Victoria, VLA helps people with their legal problems by providing information, advice and education with a focus on the prevention and early resolution of legal problems.
