Who we're looking for

As a member of the Newmont's Australian Tax Compliance team, the position of Analyst, Tax Reporting will support the preparation of tax calculations and workpapers for all aspects of Australian tax compliance including, but not limited to, the income tax returns, tax effect accounting, business activity statements and state royalty returns.

Other key responsibilities will be to assist with tax effect accounting calculations and reporting, administer accurate and timely compliance filings and payments, and prepare necessary tax schedules for the income tax return.

To be considered suitable, the ideal applicant will have:

  • Bachelor's degree majoring in Tax, Finance, Accounting or related
  • Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Tax Advisor qualification
  • Delivery skills in Australian corporate tax compliance and advisory services
  • Experience working in-house (and/or secondment) is preferred
  • Understanding of Australian tax laws, principles and practices
  • Knowledge of tax legislative research and analysis
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Excel (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc)
  • Competency in the use of tax compliance related software
  • Ability to work across a small geographically dispersed team with a global service orientation

This Perth-based position will be offered on a flexible work from home/office hybrid arrangement and Newmont's Subiaco office will be the corporate hub. Ideally, applicants will be currently residing in Perth. Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.
