We are seeking a gun Chef de Partie to join the team at Cafe Cressida.

About Us

Cafe Cressida proudly calls the historic Queens Court building in the heart of Woollahra's shopping village home. Our founder, chef Phil Wood, owns and operates nearby two hat restaurant Ursula's Paddington, and was drawn to this iconic Woollahra location for his first cafe.

Nestled in a charming internal courtyard, Cafe Cressida is designed to offer a Parisian-inspired retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. From intricate wrought iron furniture and scalloped details in the courtyard to sunshine-hued walls and delicate ruffles inside, the cafe is one of the most beautiful spaces in Sydney for relaxed breakfasts, lunching with friends, business meetings, casual dinners and impromptu celebrations.

Cafe Cressida is open for breakfast and lunch seven days, and will be open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings during the daylight saving months.

Job Summary

You will be a chef who is proud to use great produce and to prepare perfectly seasoned dishes as designed by one of Australia's best chefs.

From congee with peanuts, chilli and fried bread at breakfast to crab and chilli spaghetti at lunch and dinner, you will be making beautiful simple dishes that you want to eat yourself.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create consistently high-quality dishes to the standards set by Phil Wood.
  • Work closely with the front of house team to keep service smooth and ensure high guest satisfaction.
  • Manage produce and supplies, from ordering and quality control to proper storage and stock rotation.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Keep the kitchen spotless, organised and ready for service each day.
  • Supervise, train and support junior team members.
  • Bring professionalism and pride to your own presentation and work.

Essential requirements:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Handler Basics (or willingness to obtain)
  • Available to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
