As the MIA Platform Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing isotopic characterisation research, working in collaboration with leading experts from academia, government, and industry. You will help shape the platform's strategic direction, foster new research partnerships, and contribute to groundbreaking projects that deliver real-world impact.

Your responsibilities will include:
Drive Platform Development : Oversee the strategic growth, optimisation, and sustainable development of the MIA platform, including the strategic development of innovative capabilities.
Lead Research and Training: Conduct high-quality isotope analyses and develop training programmes for diverse stakeholders.
Foster Partnerships: Build collaborative relationships with academia, industry, and government to advance research and develop funding opportunities.
Manage Operations: Oversee laboratory platform operations, develop SOPs, and ensure adherence to OHS protocols.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an innovative leader in analytical geochemistry with a PhD or equivalent experience in government, industry and other related fields . You have a strong track record in managing complex projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver high-impact research outcomes as a critical part of a team driven strategy.
You may also:
Be experienced in isotope geochemistry and mass spectrometry, with strong analytical and organisational skills.
Have a proven track record in developing and managing research projects and infrastructure.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaborative partnerships.
Be skilled in supervising diverse teams and promoting a productive work environment.
Demonstrate budgetary and financial acumen, with experience in securing funding opportunities.

Your new team – School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
The School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences was formally established in 2021, following the merger of the Schools of Geography and Earth Sciences. The new school synergises discipline strengths in geography, atmospheric science and geoscience. It offers undergraduate and graduate research programs in these core discipline areas, and in the multi-disciplinary fields of Climate Change, Environmental Science and Archaeological Science.
The research within the school is built upon extensive expertise in geography, geoscience and atmospheric science, ranging from the social sciences through to the quantitative physical sciences. In addition to internationally recognised discipline expertise , we have strengths in several multi-disciplinary areas including climate change; resource futures; space, place and social change; environmental hazards; Indigenous knowledge; and Earth system interactions.
