Primary objective
To provide collation, coordination, and reporting on program management activities within the departments work unit, including
maintaining systems to collate, analyse and report on program progress, providing advice and support to teams and developing and
disseminating program and project support tools. Monitor and review data quality and provide advice in initiating quality
improvement processes. This includes the provision of high-level advice to internal and external clients such as senior level
management in DET, stakeholders in NT Government agencies and the Commonwealth to enable them to make informed decisions
relating to enrolment and attendance trends.
Context statement
The Children and Schooling Program is a community-focused strategy that employs local people to bring together families, schools,
communities, and other services to design and deliver local solutions to improve school attendance, EEAI programs attendance,
engagement, and attainment.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide analytical advice to the contract manager and other team members on the program activities.
2. Management of data systems, including business analysis, preparing detailed technical specifications, planning and scheduling,
testing and delivery, and the application of data quality guidelines.
3. Contribute to high-level information, reporting and analysis that acts as evidence for executive management, national bodies,
stakeholders and both local and federal government to ensure the efficient and timely requirements are fulfilled for federal
government funding.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with third-party Northern Territory CASP providers.
- Engage professionally, demonstrate cultural awareness and operate within the boundaries of agreed program policies and
procedures.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to understand, interpret and provide advice on program data.
- Developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to successfully translate complex analyses into clear and
meaningful reports and qualitative high-level reports and briefing papers.
3. Understanding and knowledge of strategic and operational planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes.
4. Ability to manoeuvre through information and technology systems, hardware and software packages including MS Office
products incl. SharePoint Office Communicator; NTG systems such as TRIPS; TRM; Fleet - VBS.
5. Experience with Business Objects, PowerBI, SQL, and other relevant data modelling tools.
6. Knowledge of Indigenous culture and an understanding of cross-cultural issues across the Northern Territory.
