The Opportunity

Concierge Balwyn Retirement Living is a welcoming community superbly positioned in one of Melbourne's most liveable and leafy suburbs - Balwyn. As our Weekend Chef, you'll prepare, cook and present meals for our daily dining room residents. As a hands-on Chef, you'll have experience in volume catering with high standards of meal presentation. If you enjoy working autonomously, this is a great opportunity. This is a Part-time position working only Weekends (Sat-Sun): from 10:30 am - 6:30 pm. Earn up to $52.40/hr on Sundays due to penalty rates

You will:

  • Ensure quality meal services to residents and any visitors to the restaurant
  • Prepare, cook, present and deliver meals according to recipes with high attention to detail
  • Monitor food safety plans and ensure the kitchen is adhering to all OH&S standards
  • Manage stock - assist with ordering, stock rotation, stocktake etc.
  • Manage the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Work with fellow Food & Beverage or Cook/Chef staff to ensure smooth operations

What you'll bring

  • Experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings (e.g experience in food preparation or Chef roles)
  • Certificate III in Commerical Cookery (required)
  • Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you)
  • Two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
