One of Australia's most established restaurant groups, Trader House, is looking for a Chef de partie for the historic Fitzroy pub, Builders Arms Hotel.

About us:

Trader House is a collective of restaurants, bars, and specialty retail stores by Melbourne-based chef, cookbook author and columnist Andrew McConnell and photographer Jo McGann. They are Gimlet at Cavendish House, Apollo Inn, Cutler, Supernormal, Cumulus Inc., Marion, Builders Arms Hotel, Bar Miette, Meatsmith Heritage Butcher and Morning Market.

Located on iconic Gertrude Street and close to public transport, Builders Arms Hotel has long been a Fitzroy community landmark, a meeting place for connection and celebration for over 170 years. Known for its charming front bar and friendly atmosphere, it's a place for all occasions – from a great pub meal at the counter or a long lunch in the Bistro, from a kerbside catch up with friends to special celebrations in the private dining spaces.

We deliver exceptional modern bistro food, as well as some pub classics executed to the highest standards. Proper cooking is what we do, and we pride ourselves in training all of our chefs in all sections of the kitchen. We are seeking chefs who love local produce, a dynamic work environment, and those with a discerning benchmark for quality and creativity.

Our kitchen creates exceptional dining experiences, whether it's a cheeseburger or fish pie in the Public Bar, charred whole flounder or local mussels with fermented chilli and vitello tonnato in the Bistro, or a deluxe kitchen menu and canapés in one of our two event spaces upstairs. Our menu and ingredients are as diverse as they are delicious.
