About the role

Newy Paint Crew Pty Ltd is seeking a mature aged apprentice painter to join our team in Newcastle, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to learn and grow in the building trades industry. As an apprentice painter, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and support to develop the skills needed to become a qualified professional.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, and priming
  2. Applying paint, stains, or other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces
  3. Mixing and matching paint colours to achieve the desired finish
  4. Cleaning and maintaining painting equipment
  5. Following safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment
  6. Assisting experienced painters with more complex tasks

  1. A passion for the building trades and a willingness to learn
  2. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work neatly and precisely
  3. Good physical fitness and the ability to stand for long periods and work at heights
  4. A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
  5. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independent
