Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Position Classification: Health Mgr Lvl 4
Remuneration: $141,974 - $169,151 plus super and leave loading
Hours Per Week: 38
Requisition ID: REQ610966
About the opportunity
Are you a strategic thinker with strong consulting or project management experience and a passion for improving public health infrastructure?
We are seeking a Business Case Lead to author and deliver high-quality, evidence-based business cases for capital projects valued at $10 million and above. This pivotal role sits at the heart of NSW Health Infrastructure Planning, where you'll draw on complex strategic, clinical, financial, and operational data to craft compelling investment narratives that guide major infrastructure decisions.
You'll thrive in this role if you excel in stakeholder engagement and balance policy requirements with competing priorities and resourcing constraints. You'll work at the centre of a dynamic environment, collaborating across technical disciplines and agencies and navigating competing priorities, which are essential for translating rigorous analysis into actionable recommendations. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact by influencing long-term infrastructure investment that directly benefits patients and communities.
This is a full-time, ongoing position. Remuneration will be determined with the successful candidate.
Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed. This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months.
About you
You are an experienced professional with a proven track record in leading the development of business cases for major infrastructure projects, particularly in the health or public sector. Ideally, you have gained this experience in management consulting for large organisations or within large-scale project delivery environments, where you have worked on complex, high-value initiatives.
You bring in-depth knowledge of NSW Government business case guidelines and NSW Treasury investment frameworks, and you are skilled at aligning inputs across clinical service, financial, and infrastructure domains.
Exceptional writing and communication skills are essential, enabling you to produce high-quality documents tailored to diverse audiences and to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You thrive in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments, managing competing priorities and compressed timelines without compromising quality.
With a relevant qualification in project planning, business, commerce, or finance, you are ready to shape the next generation of health infrastructure in NSW.
About us
Health Infrastructure delivers sustainable and innovative infrastructure solutions to meet the health care needs of NSW communities now and into the future. We collaborate with government and industry to transform public health facilities across NSW. Outside of health we contribute longer term benefits to NSW communities including the creation of jobs and increased opportunities for local businesses.
