Supporting families across NSW in the Hunter, Central Coast, Sydney, Mid-North Coast and Western regions, Interactive Community Care is committed to meeting the complex care needs of children, adolescents, and adults.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dynamic Disability Support Workers with experience in working with different groups, including children and young people, people with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities, sensory difficulties, and those with physical disabilities. to join our dedicated team. We are proud to be partnering with the Lumiere Foundation to offer this opportunity. You will be employed by Lumiere Foundation for work onsite with ICCare.

The Role

Our NDIS participants come from all walks of life and need your support in their day to day tasks. You will be supporting those who need assistance with domestic duties like shopping, getting to appointments, cleaning, laundry as well as someone who they can talk to, share a laugh and provide emotional support if they need it.

At times you may need to assist with managing behaviours, or assist with medication administration and ensure their health is being monitored.

Our ideal candidate is one that is caring, compassionate and understanding,  that has experience with mental health and disability and will work within the boundaries of NDIS guidelines.

What You Need to be Successful

  • At least 6 month experience in a similar role
  • Ability to be flexible and able travel to various locations
  • Active listening and communication skills
  • A current first aid certificate
  • Experience with domestic duties
  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Services, Individual Support or related field (or working towards or  willing to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check clearance for employment
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Unrestricted or minimum P2 license and comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Basic English reading, writing and numeracy skills
