In this role, you'll:
Provide leadership and strategic advice on optimising Transport for NSW's portfolio of investments through applying a holistic approach to investing in capital, maintenance, and operations across the different modes of transport (specifically rail portfolio and projects in planning), ensuring that investment decision making, planning, delivery and evaluation processes are clearly linked to and capable of realising government and organizational goals and objectives.

Act as a divisional capital funding partner by managing the 10-year capital portfolio for divisions and rail agencies at initiative level, providing guidance on funding risks and opportunities to divisional stakeholders and on the internal and external funding approval pathways, representing at the divisional monthly finance meetings, and preparing and presenting capital budget views for the division.

Deliver impetus for change across the transport portfolio through the provision of data and information on investment strategies which supports the development of customer focused change strategies, programs, and initiatives.

Motivate and inspire the development of an effective, ethical, and professional team of five (5) with a clear focus on the delivery of planned outcomes and the continual development of individual team member capabilities.

Manage and build successful relationships with all Branches and other Divisions, agencies, and key stakeholders to build and maintain confidence in Transport's current and future integrated service and operational management strategies in line with the pipeline of future programs and the available funding envelope.

Support the Investment and Assurance Committee, NSW Treasury, and other internal and external stakeholders by providing high quality, accurate and timely recommendations, advice and reports on investment proposals and program performance.

About You

• Extensive experience in investment strategy and prioritisation including complex economic modelling and the assessment and evaluation of major infrastructure programs and projects.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior or executive level role leading the delivery of budgets and forward estimates in a large and complex organisation.
• Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, including the ability to lead, influence, promote and motivate highly skilled staff to deliver desired outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
