Doolee Construction is a well established company delivering a wide range of quality construction services to the infrastructure, resource, agricultural, defence and energy and waste sectors throughout Australia and New Zealand.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of civil engineering projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  • Utilise industry-standard software and tools to perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Prepare full tender submissions to a high standard, including but not limited to detailed estimates, materials, labour & equipment requirements, and overhead costs.
  • Evaluate and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with projects.
  • Present estimates to senior management and participate in bid review meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, cost factors, and construction methods.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience working as a Contracts Administrator on Civil Construction and Mining projects.
  • Experience in quantity surveying and estimating.
  • Experience in tender processes and procurement.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
