Kerman Contracting is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Head Office in Applecross due to an internal promotion. This role is pivotal in supporting the planning, costing, and coordination of high-end projects. Your accuracy and attention to detail will support smooth project delivery through precise scheduling, cost forecasting, and sub-contractor engagement.

Your Roles, Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with the identification of future business opportunities
  • Establish and maintain historical costs for use in preparing budgets
  • Prepare budget estimates for customers as part of the business development process
  • Ensure that the Company has well-defined tendering systems and processes that are continuously improved and relevant to our markets
  • Tender for projects directly and manage/oversee the tendering activities of others in the estimating team
  • Facilitate the development of the preliminary design documentation process for tenders for design-and-construct projects to achieve the required outcomes
  • Ensure quotations and pricing of works from first principles are analysed and prepared accurately
  • Ability to complete take off for civil and structural elements
  • Ensure that subcontractor and supplier tender documents and distribution lists, including any tender addendums or clarification notices, are well documented and traceable to facilitate the formation of the Contract
  • Ensure the Tender and project registers are maintained and improved periodically
  • Review design drawings as they are developed post-award to identify any out-of-scope work
  • Assist the project team with pricing variations

About You

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory
  • Experience working on multiple discipline projects
  • Previous leadership experience or a strong interest in developing leadership skills
  • Fair and flexible working attitude
