We're seeking a motivated Estimator to join our Kwinana-based team. This full-time, permanent position reports directly to the General Manager and will play a key role in Aaro's continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates, proposals, and tenders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and internal departments to gather necessary information.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute work packages to suppliers for quoted pricing.
  • Incorporate financial and commercial requirements into estimates as approved during the tender review process.
  • Determine material quantities and order as required before contract commencement.
  • Attend site inspections and client meetings as required.
  • Prepare and manage client clarifications post-tender submission.
  • Track and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, comparing actuals against estimates.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on estimates, cost analyses, and key project considerations.
  • Maintain internal registers and prepare reports with up-to-date information.
  • Maintain Expert Estimator software for estimating, job costing, and surveying activities.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve estimating and scheduling practices.
  • Exhibit a proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to hit the ground running.

Skills & Experience

  • Must have pipeline installation, rehabilitation, and maintenance estimating experience.
  • Civil works and Micro Tunnelling estimating experience – highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and digital platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite – essential.
  • Experience with Expert Estimator – highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify priorities, seek clarification when needed, and set realistic expectations to manage tasks effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in business needs.
  • Humble – prioritises team success over individual recognition.
  • Hungry – self-motivated and diligent in achieving goals.
  • Smart – solution-oriented, with good judgement and intuition.
