We have an opportunity available for an Aboriginal Project Officer to join Embrace at The Kids Research Institute, Western Australia’s first research collaboration devoted to the mental health of infants, children and young people ages 0-25.
The Project Officer will support the co-design, development, and implementation of culturally safe and responsive, trauma-informed research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. You will play an integral role within our Aboriginal and non-Indigenous research team and will contribute to a variety of activities to help facilitate this project and other Embrace events as directed. One of your key focuses will be to facilitate yarning circles, which may be gender specific, and so in this role we are specifically recruiting one male Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to ensure cultural protocols are followed.

- Assist with the planning and management of data collection, entry, analysis and reporting.
- Visit community groups to promote the Parenting Program, Embrace and share our findings.
- Attend and lead Embrace community events that have a specific Aboriginal focus, in collaboration with the Embrace Communications Specialist.
