Primary objective

Develop and implement policies and projects that strengthen the NT Government's security arrangements. Provide quality advice

on protective security requirements and administer the Territory Crisis Coordination Centre capability.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Contribute to the development of policies and undertake projects that uplift security in the Northern Territory across a range

of portfolios, including counter terrorism, protective security, critical infrastructure, identity security, and counter foreign

interference.

  1. Perform as a security officer for the NT Government's national security clearances, including processing requests, providing

advice, improving processes, stakeholder engagement, incident reporting, and maintaining records.

  1. Develop and communicate advice related to Territory and national security to internal and external stakeholders at all levels,

including through the development of briefs and memos.

  1. Implement and manage processes for the protection of national security information created, received, used and held by the

NT Government.

  1. Administer and maintain the Territory Crisis Coordination Centre (T3C) capability.
  2. Provide secretariat and administrative support to the Emergency Recovery and Security Coordination team, including minute-

taking, records management, processing invoices, and booking travel.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated ability to interpret and provide advice on protective security arrangements with a proven capacity to manage

sensitive information with integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.

2. Proven experience in managing and contributing to projects and policies, including undertaking research and analysis,

formulating recommendations, and successfully delivering outcomes within set timeframes.

3. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve processes, while

working both independently and as part of a team.

4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex

information clearly and succinctly.

5. Strong writing skills with demonstrated experience in producing high quality reports, briefings, memorandums, minutes, and

other written content tailored to diverse audiences.

6. Ability to work after hours and on weekends in response to crisis and emergency events.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

2. Knowledge and understanding of the national and Territory security landscape.
