WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

RMI Security is seeking professional, reliable and switched-on Security Officers to join our team at a major essential-services infrastructure site. This position is central to maintaining the security, safety and integrity of a critical Northern Territory operation.

Your primary duties will include gatehouse control, vehicle and personnel access, and site patrols. Each shift is worked in a two-officer team, ensuring effective coverage and support at all times.

  • Day shifts focus on gatehouse duties, accurate entry/exit recording, access validation, and engagement with staff, visitors and contractors.
  • Night shifts focus on maintaining site safety and security through patrols, monitoring and rapid response to any incidents.

You'll be part of a professional, inclusive, and diverse workforce where teamwork, communication and reliability are key.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Operate and monitor gate access systems, including boom gates and entry logs.
  2. Verify site entry requirements (ID, authorisations, inductions, PPE etc.).
  3. Accurately record all vehicle and personnel movements in/out of site.
  4. Conduct site patrols and report irregularities or security concerns.
  5. Respond to incidents and participate in emergency training and drills.
  6. Maintain situational awareness and uphold a professional standard of service.
  7. Work cooperatively with site management, contractors and fellow security staff.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Current dual NT Security/Crowd Control Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current White Card or prepared to apply/obtain within 1 week
  • Current unrestricted NT Driver's Licence to drive a motor car
  • Competent to drive a manual vehicle
  • Have your own reliable transport, as there is no public transport in the area.
  • Strong observational skills, attention to detail and accuracy of record keeping
  • Unrestricted Work Rights in Australia (students need not apply)
  • High level of integrity and reliability
  • Excellent written and two-way verbal communication skills (must be able to speak, write, read and understand English clearly & proficiently)
  • Ability to react to or engage effectively under pressure in emergencies, calmly and confidently
  • Demonstrate strong professional, courteous customer service skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate in a small team environment
