Join our dynamic team as a Technical Officer, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining our cutting-edge creative facilities, supporting students during practical sessions, and ensuring a safe and organised environment. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who thrives on problem-solving, technical precision, and fostering an inspiring learning environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and oversee the campus's cutting-edge film, music, and audio equipment, ensuring all facilities are fully operational and organised.
- Provide technical support and guidance to students during practical sessions, fostering a safe and creative learning environment.
- Monitor and uphold Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards, addressing faults promptly and ensuring compliance across facilities.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including responding to inquiries and coordinating equipment bookings and maintenance schedules.
- Contribute to campus activities by supporting promotional events and showcasing the institute's state-of-the-art facilities.
- Collaborate with academic and technical teams to enhance resource availability and improve the student experience.
Our ideal candidate can demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
- Strong technical expertise and industry experience in audio, music production, and/or filmmaking, including proficiency in studio and location equipment, lighting, camera, and grip workflows.
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience in a related field, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- A passion for supporting students to reach their potential, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and student support.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work evenings as required.
