About Camp Cooby
Camp Cooby is an immersive outdoor education centre situated on a stunning 50-acre property on the edge of Lake Cooby, just north of Toowoomba. Our mission is to help young people connect with themselves, others, and the environment while developing essential life skills. We offer tailored outdoor education experiences for schools and youth programs, complemented by mindfulness, environmental science, entrepreneurship, and technology learning streams.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Outdoor Education Facilitator to join our team full-time. This role involves facilitating a variety of outdoor adventure programs, working closely with students, and ensuring a safe and enriching camp experience. If you have a love for the outdoors, enjoy working with young people, and want to be part of a dynamic team, this opportunity is for you
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and lead outdoor education programs, including canoeing, high ropes, rock climbing, archery, orienteering, bushwalking, team-building activities, and initiative games.
- Engage and supervise students (ages 8-18) in a safe and professional manner.
- Assist in the setup, pack-down, and maintenance of camp activities and facilities.
- Support program planning to align with school curriculums and educational objectives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Uphold and follow Camp Cooby's policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Skills & Experience:
- Experience or strong interest in outdoor education, adventure tourism, or youth development. Certificate in Outdoor Education would be ideal.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- A growth mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and foster positive relationships with students and co-workers.
- Hold or be eligible for a Working with Children Blue Card.
- Flexibility with working hours, including occasional overnight stays.
- A passion for nature, outdoor adventure, and personal development.
