As the Head of Department - Curriculum, you will lead the curriculum in alignment with school and departmental initiatives, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across P-10. You will foster positive relationships among students, teachers, and stakeholders, and play a
key role in facilitating collaborative planning meetings with teachers, focusing on the implementation of Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum. The successful candidate will bring experience and strong interpersonal skills to support staff through coaching and capability
building, with a particular emphasis on improving reading outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a motivated leadership team and includes a teaching component.

About the Role

As Head of Department, you will lead the curriculum focus in alignment with school and departmental initiatives, contribute to delivering the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division, enhance the quality of teaching and learning, and foster positive relationships among students, teachers, and stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

As the Head of Department - Curriculum, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading a Whole School Approach to Reading aligned with the Department's commitment to teach reading consistently using an evidence-informed approach
  • Collaboratively develop and enact processes to embed and quality assure the three levels of planning and assessment across P-10
  • Support staff through coaching and capability building
  • Create an Inclusive School Culture
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life
