We are looking for our next General Manager to lead the professional staff, provide strategic leadership and empower the elected student body to support Jewish students across Australia and New Zealand.

The General Manager is responsible for long term oversight, fundraising and financial sustainability of the organisation while leading the day-to-day operations of the AUJS professional team, including preserving AUJS' student-led ethos.

They will work closely with the AUJS elected student leaders, the AUJS LTD board, and our community partners to deliver high quality programming, advocacy and leadership opportunities for Jewish students.

The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to working with the student leadership to help them reach their goals and dedicated to providing mentorship across the organisation, while ensuring AUJS' long term sustainability.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Provide internal leadership direction, goals and energy to the organisation including leading recruitment efforts, training, performance evaulation and ongoing management of staff.
  • Mentor and support the elected student union executive to execute high-equality programming, campaigns and advocacy efforts.
  • Manage the organisations financial operations and develop and deliver a fundraising strategy.
  • Implement and facilitate strategic reviews of the organisation including risk mitigation and long-term program evaluation.
  • Develop organisation plans, budgets and startegies alongside the student leadership.
  • Support effective relationship building with external stakeholders and community organisations.

We are looking for candidates based in either Sydney or Melbourne, with regular interstate travel required.
