About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The Head Chef will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and efficiency. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a hands-on, creative professional who takes pride in their craft and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily kitchen operations, leading and motivating the culinary team

Plan, prepare, and execute menu items to a consistently high standard

Develop and implement new seasonal dishes and specials

Manage kitchen budgets, food costs, and inventory control

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards

Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high-performance culture

Coordinate with front-of-house to ensure smooth and efficient service

Maintain supplier relationships and manage ordering, stock rotation, and deliveries

Drive creativity, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all kitchen processes

Skills & Experience:

Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

At least 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or Head Chef role

Proven ability to manage and inspire a team in a busy kitchen

Strong knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and seasonal menu planning

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency

Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak periods
