About the role

This hybrid role blends data engineering and front-end development to deliver end-to-end data-to-insight solutions. You will support the design, build, and deployment of modern data pipelines, interactive dashboards, and intelligent UI layers that bring analytics to life. Working closely with senior engineers, architects, and client stakeholders, you'll contribute to both backend data transformations and frontend visual storytelling—building skills across the full analytics lifecycle in a dynamic consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering (Azure Databricks & Fabric)

• Develop and maintain
  data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines
  using Azure Databricks (SQL, PySpark) and Microsoft Fabric Dataflows.
• Implement
  medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  models for structured and semi-structured data.
• Support
  data governance and lineage
  via Unity Catalog and Fabric's governance layer.
• Optimise compute and storage for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Integrate datasets from multiple sources (APIs, databases, CSV, or JSON feeds).

UI Development (React & Data Visualisation)

• Build
  interactive dashboards, portals, and analytics interfaces
  using React, TypeScript, and Material UI or Ant Design.
• Integrate
  Fabric, Power BI, or Databricks endpoints
  for live analytics and user-driven exploration.
• Develop reusable UI components following
  TL Consulting's design and accessibility guidelines
  .
• Collaborate with designers to ensure intuitive, responsive, and engaging data experiences.

Collaboration & Delivery Excellence

• Work in Agile delivery teams using
  GitHub
  or
  Azure DevOps
  for version control, CI/CD, and work tracking.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and re-usable engineering assets.
• Support internal PoCs, client demos, and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications and skills:

• Strong foundation in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Working knowledge of Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
• Understanding of Microsoft Fabric components (Dataflows, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Power BI).
• Familiar with REST APIs and JSON-based data integration.
• Worked with code repo and strong understanding of branching strategy :
• Designed and maintained feature, release, and hotfix branches aligned to GitFlow and trunk-based development models.
• Managed merge conflicts, pull requests, and code reviews to ensure clean, traceable commits and consistent release quality.
• Enforced branch protection rules, versioning standards, and automated CI/CD triggers across environments for reliable deployments.
• Exposure to GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Basic data modelling knowledge (Star Schema, Dimensional Models).
• Basic understanding 3NF OLTP data modelling techniques
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Collaborative leadership style, comfortable leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on business outcomes.
