Based in Cairns or Townsville, the AO4 Project Support Officer is a permanent full-time role supporting the Regional Director and team across a wide range of projects and priorities.
Your daily tasks may include checking over travel and event logistics for an upcoming stakeholder workshop, making sure venues are booked, schedules are confirmed, and nothing is missed. Then it's onto reconciling the team's monthly expenses, updating reporting systems, and following up on outstanding correspondence for the Regional Director. You could be reviewing records and security protocols, ensuring systems are up to date, or preparing documentation to support regional initiatives.
In this role, you'll be relied on to manage the small details that keep big projects running. You'll draft letters and briefing notes, maintain financial and admin systems, respond to queries, coordinate meetings, track office resources, and make sure governance processes are followed. You'll also provide practical support to industry and community engagement activities, assisting with stakeholder events and helping to represent the department at regional meetings. It's the kind of role where no two days are the same, and your ability to prioritise and communicate will be the secret sauce that makes it all work.
