Who are we?
Headquartered in the heart of Cairns, for over the past 15 years Express Paint has been servicing clients throughout Central, North and Far North Queensland. Partnering with those across a variety of industries, sizes and scopes (residential, commercial, enterprise, etc) we pride ourselves not just on our work, but our company culture as a whole.
Going from strength to strength, due to our continued success and growth we are on track to turn into a regional powerhouse As such, whilst we continue to expand our front-line team of multi-talented painting and trades professionals, we are now seeking to expand our back-office capabilities by hiring a Project Administrator & Coordinator
What is the role?
Working within the organisation's leadership team, your new role will see you undertake a myriad of diverse duties, responsibilities and projects (see below for a brief incite).
Acting as an intermediary between our frontline team (currently sitting at 25+ trades professionals) and the back office, you will conduct various internal duties. Such examples include timesheet management, job scheduling, employee onboarding, recruitment, payrolling, expense management, material ordering and anything else to ensure our team can deliver projects
Client management and project work is next. With our diverse portfolio of commercial and residential clients, you will partner with them to conduct preliminary, in situ and post-delivery project duties. Examples include analysing technical drawings (with in house training provided to use the construction estimation software PlanSwift), providing job & project quotes, delivering timeframes to clients, work invoicing, answering client queries and issue escalations (amongst many more).
Finally, is everything else Social media marketing (posting on our company Facebook and Instagram), arranging our social events, insuring company vehicles, validating all licenses and certs, organising flights and accommodation, and conducting general business administration are all examples of the varied work you will be involved with.
Not to limited to just the BAU (Business As Usual), you will also have the ability to make operational changes as you see fit. Want to update a process? Implement an improved delivery method? Know of a better solution the business could use? Interested to make us more efficient? Like to make and implement change? We actively encourage all this and generally value our employee's input
Whilst this all may seem overwhelming, fear not With everything shared amongst the leadership team, you will act as an invaluable resource to help deliver and produce results alongside them. With this role estimated to be 25 – 30 hours per week, flexibility is offered (such as start/finish times)
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, we are seeking those with experience, capabilities and traits across the following:
- Organisational and time management skills
- Able to work autonomously and be proactive
- Find solutions to issues as they arise
- Customer/client facing skills
- General administration
- Business acumen
- Invoicing
- IT savvy (open & able to learn new systems such as MYOB, PlanSwift, Microsoft Office, TypeForm, Meta Business Suite, etc)
- Industry experience advantageous (but not a necessity)
- Fluent communication skills (written and spoken)
- Full Australian working rights
- AU driving license
Given the diverse nature of this role, we are not seeking an expert in any one area. Rather, we are seeking 'all rounders' who are switched on and willing to learn
What do we offer?
- A centrally located office with workshop here in Cairns
- Monthly and quarterly team events.
- A supportive crew of talented painters and back office staff who love what they do and pride themselves on their work.
- Partnerships with leading suppliers and materials vendors.
- Work/life balance and flexibility.
- A great company culture where effort and commitment are valued.
- Ability to grow and learn
What should you do now?
