Data Architect – Snowflake Migration Program (Contract)

Location: Hybrid (Australia-based)

Duration: 12–18 months | Likely to extend

Are you passionate about shaping modern data ecosystems and leading large-scale transformation journeys?

We're looking for a hands-on Data Architect to play a pivotal role in a major data migration program — moving from legacy platforms (Teradata and Google BigQuery) to Snowflake and Power BI.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the architecture and design for a large data transformation initiative — migrating legacy data platforms to a scalable Snowflake environment.
  • Oversee the transition of reporting, data visualisation, and self-service analytics layers into modern tools such as Power BI.
  • Collaborate closely with program stakeholders, data engineering teams, and business users to ensure high-quality, future-proof solutions.
  • Work 80% on the core data migration program, with the remaining 20% supporting related projects across the business.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in data architecture (not just engineering) within medium to large-scale organisations.
  • Background in retail or wholesale, ideally having worked with complex, customer-centric environments.
  • A consultancy mindset – you enjoy variety, solving tough data challenges, and working across multiple brands or clients.
  • Solid experience across Snowflake, Power BI, Teradata, and Google BigQuery.
  • Someone who's been part of a major transformation journey, ideally migrating from legacy to modern cloud data platforms.
