Job Title: Solution Architect

Location: Melbourne CBD

Contract role: Initial 6 months of contract with potential extension

Open to all candidates with full work rights

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support a major government initiative focused on modernising aging technology infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments and has a strong background in both legacy and cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic input into solution options and data architecture for legacy platforms.
  • Apply deep data architecture expertise to support integration and transformation efforts.
  • Work across a hybrid environment comprising legacy on-premise infrastructure and modern Azure-hosted applications.
  • Navigate a highly complex ecosystem with numerous internal and external interfaces.

Technical Environment:

  • Microsoft stack: .NET, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS
  • Legacy on-premise systems alongside newer cloud-based applications hosted on Azure

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Principal Developer transitioning into an Architect role.
  • Background in medium to large government or commercial organisations.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.
  • Ability to work effectively across both legacy and modern technology landscapes.
