Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NDIS team at UnitingSA as the NDIS Team Leader. The Team Leader will provide leadership, practice oversight and supervision to a team of Support Workers at metropolitan and/or regional locations. Key to the role will be to manage service efficiencies including allocation of referrals, supervision of practice, quality requirements and all aspects of support delivery. Staff offering community supports in the service may come from a variety of professional and experiential backgrounds including people working in Peer Worker roles and with lived experience of mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, supervision and support to Community Support Team.
  • Provide active guidance to staff confronting complex consumer issues or systems.
  • Develop and manage a positive team culture which embraces diversity.
  • Conduct performance development, review and planning for team members.
  • Facilitate team meetings, forums and case conferences in line with NDIS protocols.
  • Ensure effective and adequate staffing levels offering appropriate cover for planned and unplanned absences.
  • Review client outcomes, service satisfaction and feedback & incident reports.
  • Review and implement growth strategies.
  • Monitor service outputs and ensure oversight of outcomes against the requirements of any contractual agreements.
  • Ensure data collection and reporting requirements are met within required time frames.
  • Ensure the accuracy of consumer files, appropriateness of data collection and quality of client records.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the NDIS support worker role or similar and a management role of the same or a similar workforce.
  • Experience in monitoring team and individual performance against service targets (KPIs) and agreed financial goals.
  • Experience in working in the context and with adherence to recovery principles.
  • Experience in business/service development.
  • Experience and acumen for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as may be required, including participant families.
  • A Diploma or Degree qualification In Human Services or Certificate IV Individual Support with leadership experience in a related field, particularly the NDIS and/or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Current DHS Working with Children Check (essential)
  • Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
  • Current South Australian driver's licence
