Who are we:

Dr Morse Bar and Eatery is a multifaceted & dynamic venue serving modern Italian bistro style inspired food, specialty coffee, craft beer, natural/conventional wines and seasonal cocktails with a strong disco music program in the heart of Abbotsford. Our food offering is straight forward, familiar and smart. We are a local neighbourhood favourite that harbours a communal, atmospheric and product driven cross section of dining & partying. The dining experience of the venue is animated, energetic and upbeat on the weekends. The weekdays follow slower, cosier rhythms, being a commonplace for date nights, long lunches and hump day hangs. Our beloved open air beer garden is cherished by all, sippers, diners and dancers alike.

Located in the Johnston st precinct right under Victoria park train station Dr Morse has become an institution within Abbotsford and the surrounding area.

We are looking for a committed manager who is passionate, reliable & motivated to start immediately.

In addition to the above, the Dr Morse venue manager will be versed in the rhythms and operation of a busy venue that loves to eat good food and also loves to party. To clarify this means they will be able to demonstrate an ability to:

• Run a tight ship, keeping all systems adhered to and the operation of the venue running smoothly.
• Confidently handle a busy and bustling shift.
• Oversee food service, ensuring our service standards are upheld and we are creating memorable dining experiences.
• Successfully collaborate with staff, department heads and owners in creating venue strategies.
• Personify and perpetuate a healthy company culture of passion, quality, enjoyment and respect.
• Attend all admin such as rosters, emails, invoicing, planning & general upkeep
• Plan, maintain & guide consistent weekly manager meetings, record and delegate tasks.
• Contribute and implement ideas to increase profitability of the business.
• Contribute and implement ideas within the ethos/brand of the venue that will generate business.
• Follow, track and assist in controlling the performance of the business. This includes ability to perform financial analysis on focus areas where needed.
