Whether it's breakfast before a surf, long lunches, or sunset dinners, our Melbourne venue is all about good food, great people and genuine connection.
We're on the lookout for an experienced and hands-on Venue Manager to lead our Melbourne team. You'll oversee the entire venue - driving financial performance, team culture and operational excellence - while keeping the Ducks' spirit alive in everything you do.
About The Role:
- Lead the day-to-day operations across FOH, kitchen and bar
- Drive financial performance - manage P&L, budgeting, cost control, and forecasting
- Analyse key business metrics (wages, GP, sales, waste, COGs) and implement improvements
- Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure seamless service, menu execution and cost alignment
- Manage and mentor the leadership team, ensuring strong communication and accountability across all departments
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training to build a high-performing, positive team culture
- Maintain high standards of customer experience, presentation and brand integrity
- Be present and hands-on during service - leading from the floor and setting the tone
- Ensure compliance with licensing, WHS and food safety requirements
- Act as the main point of contact for URBNSURF partnership relations and group communication
About You:
- You've got solid experience managing a busy restaurant or high-volume café
- You're financially astute and confident analysing reports, budgets and performance data
- You're proactive, organised and solutions-focused with strong attention to detail
- You work exceptionally well with chefs and have a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- You're confident managing rosters, service flow and team performance
- You lead with empathy, enthusiasm and accountability - no job too big or small
- You're passionate about food, people and sustainability, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
