The Role

This is a field-based machinery role ideal for someone with strong hands-on skills and a flexible mindset. You'll operate, maintain and transport modern farm machinery across Gatton, Bundaberg, and Stanthorpe trial sites to support research and seed production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractors, planters, sprayers, harvesters and irrigation systems
  • Assist with cultivation, planting, spraying, harvesting and irrigation
  • Maintain machinery and conduct hygiene procedures to research standards
  • Support field trial setup and data integrity
  • Travel across multiple SE QLD/NSW sites with overnight stays (approx. 1 in 3 weeks)
  • Flex work hours during seasonal peaks

About You

You're a practical operator with an eye for detail and a love of diverse field work. You enjoy machinery, working outdoors, and being part of a collaborative, agile team.

We're looking for:

  • 3+ years' experience in agricultural field operations
  • Confident operation of tractors, planters, sprayers and harvesters
  • High attention to detail and biosecurity diligence
  • C Class licence (HR/MR desirable or willing to obtain)
  • Safety-first mindset and flexible approach to daily changes
  • Willingness to travel and work weekends when needed
  • Basic tech skills (GPS, MS Office) an advantage
