About the Role

We are seeking a well-presented, friendly, and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis (approximately 15–20 hours per week, with additional hours available for leave coverage). This position is covered by the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 (MA

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient enquiries
  • Schedule appointments and update administrative records
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe reception and waiting area
  • Assist with keeping treatment rooms, consulting rooms, and clinical areas clean, organised, and stocked
  • Follow infection-control and cleaning procedures as required by practice policies
  • Perform general administrative duties (data entry, scanning, faxing, emailing)
  • Liaise with medical professionals for appointments and correspondence
  • Daily banking, receipting, and reconciliation
  • Support day-to-day clinic operations
  • Record and maintain accurate documentation using practice protocols and electronic medical record systems

Desirable

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Interest in developing a career as a Medical Receptionist
  • One year of medical administration experience (preferred)
  • One year of customer service experience (preferred)

Job Details

  • Hours: Approximately 15–20 hours per week, casual, with additional hours available for holiday and sick-leave cover
  • Pay: Adult casual rate $32.18–$34.74 per hour. Junior employees (under 21) are paid at the applicable Award junior rate for their age group, which is a percentage of the adult rate
  • Commute/Relocation: Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to McCrae, VIC 3938 before starting work
  • Work Authorisation: Australia

Pay: $32.18 – $34.74 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
