Medical Receptionist – Casual

Location: Warragul, VIC

Practice: Warragul Medical Centre

Are you a people-focused and organised professional looking to join a supportive general practice team? Warragul Medical Centre is currently seeking a Casual Medical Receptionist to help us deliver high-quality care to our growing patient community.

Clinic Hours

Monday to Friday: 08:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Shifts available across weekdays, with flexibility to suit the right candidate.

About the Role

You'll be the welcoming face of the practice — greeting patients, managing appointments, and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about healthcare, service excellence, and working in a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet patients in person and over the phone
  • Schedule and manage appointments and recalls efficiently
  • Handle patient enquiries and support both clinical and admin teams
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
  • Process payments and Medicare claims
  • Assist with general administrative tasks (scanning, filing, ordering stock)

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in medical reception preferred
  • Best Practice software experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Friendly, professional, and compassionate manner
  • Reliable and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and billing processes a plus
  • Do you have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment?
  • Do you have a current Working With Children (WWC) Check?
  • Must have permanent right to work in Australia

Training will be provided for the right candidate — especially those new to general practice or Best Practice software.
