About the Role

As the Work Health and Safety Coordinator, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and review WHS programs and systems
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and Council's WHS Management Plan
  • Develop and maintain safe work procedures, emergency plans, and risk assessments
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate WHS training and promote safety awareness
  • Support workers compensation and return-to-work programs
  • Provide guidance and support to managers, staff, contractors, and volunteers

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • In-depth knowledge of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulations
  • Experience developing and monitoring WHS systems
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence

Desirable:

  • Relevant WHS qualification
  • SIRA Return-to-Work Coordinator accreditation
  • Experience with WHS management software
