Opportunity currently exists for a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Coordinator to join the Safety team in our join our MILO Smithtown Factory. MILO, Australia's iconic crunchy milk drink, was first introduced in 1934 by chemical engineer, Thomas Mayne from Smithtown, NSW. Here is your chance to join an iconic brand.
In this role, the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Coordinator will support the management of occupational health, safety and environment for Nestlé to ensure a safe workplace is maintained, including driving site initiatives leading to continuous improvement in SHE performance in line with the Nestlé Continuous Excellence mindset of zero accidents and incidents.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager, key responsibilities of the role include:
- Assist in the co-ordination of the Factory's SHE strategy & program and in developing SHE objectives considering Market and Corporate objectives.
- Monitor and communicate on performance to improve decision making regarding SHE and to integrate SHE into business decisions.
- Support the adherence to all company principles, policies and SHE requirements.
- Ensure compliance with SHE-related legal requirements.
- Develop and sustain a local network (including authorities, other factories, etc).
- Support the Implementation, control, maintenance and improve the Factory SHE Management systems.
- Provide support to the SHE Manager, and Line Managers to achieve the Factory's SHE objectives.
- Ensure that SHE performance data is available and correctly managed.
- Involvement with the Factory's SHE risk assessment program, including assessment, incident investigation, corrective action and auditing, as well as ensuring a focus on CTF/BBS and culture.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
- Certificate IV in Occupational health and safety (OHS).
- Completion of 5-day WHS Representative course preferred.
- Minimum 1 years' experience in a Factory Operations role, preferably in a Safety role.
- Clear and effective communication skills are essential.
- The right person must be proactive, thorough, and detailed, with a high level of relationship building.
