About the Role
As the Work Health and Safety Coordinator, you will:
- Plan, coordinate, and review WHS programs and systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and Council's WHS Management Plan
- Develop and maintain safe work procedures, emergency plans, and risk assessments
- Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
- Coordinate WHS training and promote safety awareness
- Support workers compensation and return-to-work programs
- Provide guidance and support to managers, staff, contractors, and volunteers
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- In-depth knowledge of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulations
- Experience developing and monitoring WHS systems
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
Desirable:
- Relevant WHS qualification
- SIRA Return-to-Work Coordinator accreditation
- Experience with WHS management software
