Dessert Bar Team Member – Vanilla (New Venue in Eaton Mall, Oakleigh)

Vanilla in Oakleigh is excited to have expanded with the launch of a brand-new venue in Eaton Mall - located just opposite our flagship café/lounge. This beautifully designed Dessert Bar features:

  • A bespoke frozen yoghurt and soft-serve bar  with over 60 offering to create a dessert "your way"

We are seeking a casual Dessert Bar Team Member to assist in the day-to-day operations of this new venue. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about quality desserts, customer connection, and operational excellence. You will join a small team and ensure our service, product, and atmosphere reflect the high standards that Vanilla Lounge is known for.

Key Responsibilities (inc but not limited to)

  • Customer Experience: Foster a warm, professional environment and ensure exceptional service for every customer.
  • Store Presentation & Cleanliness: Maintain a visually appealing and hygienic store environment, reflecting our premium brand image.
  • Product Oversight: Ensure consistency in product quality and presentation, particularly with different varieties of toppings, whole cakes and frozen treats.
  • Inventory & Stock Control: Manage inventory levels, reduce waste, and ensure efficient stock rotation.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with food safety and OH&S regulations.

What We're Looking For

  • Customer-Focused Mindset: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural warmth and attention to customer needs.
  • Product Familiarity: Prior knowledge of frozen yoghurt/soft serve is preferred but not mandatory, Understanding of cakes and bakery goods (or a willingness to learn quickly and thoroughly).
  • Organisation & Multitasking: Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment with a calm, solutions-driven approach.
  • Work Ethic & Passion: A proactive, hands-on team member who takes pride in excellence and is excited to build something new within the Vanilla family.
  • Wide range of availability: The person who is hired must be able to offer flexibility with their hours to ensure they are available for a mix of early morning opening shifts, late night closes as well as the weekends.
  • Hospitality experience is essential.
